Q: What is The Columns?
A: The Columns is a modern event space in the heart of Findlay Market, allowing people to meet, mingle or marry in a unique and sophisticated setting in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Q: Where is The Columns?
A: Set on the southside of Findlay Market, The Columns is the only space designed for gatherings specifically to serve the community, market merchants, and those interested in celebrating a special occasion with the market as a backdrop. (Just click here for a cute map)
Q: Can you tell me a little about the history of the building?
A: The Columns traces its history back to 1874, beginning as a toy knick-knack department store (originally 4 stories tall - the tallest building on the block) owned by Moses Goldsmith. The building received a top-to-bottom makeover in 2020 and 2021.
Q: What is the capacity of the main space?
A: The venue can seat 100 people on the main floor. Alternatively, 140-150 people can be accommodated for a cocktail style party. 50-75 people is the ideal size for intimate weddings, especially if you are looking for dinner + dance floor (we love and respect all types of dancing).

Q: What other spaces are available in the building?
A: The Columns has a lower level with a dressing room with private bathroom, 2 additional public bathrooms and a large prep kitchen. The top floor has a built-in seating area (sits 12-15) and bar/kitchenette. Additionally, we have a rooftop observation deck that overlooks Findlay Market… if you are into that kind of thing!
Q: What are you Audio/Visual capabilities?
A: We are fully equipped with robust, state-of-the-art technical amenities. We have a Sonos sound system that allows clients to play music seamlessly in any area of the building. We have flat screen TVs throughout the building. In our main event space, we have 2 projectors that are ready to share images via hardwire inputs or wirelessly. Our goal is to make sure that you don’t have to worry about anything! Oh, we almost forgot! If your grandma has a very old computer with a powerpoint presentation, we can handle that too.
Q: What are my catering options?
A: We are located at Findlay Market. What more do we need to say? We built The Columns in the heart of Findlay Market because we believe this is the top food destination in the city, and we want to connect you with the best vendors to fit your needs. Alternatively, if you have your own chef or catering company in mind, we are ready to work with them as well.
Q: What about drinks?
A: The Columns holds a liquor license and provides ample bartender(s) for each event.
Q: What kind of events happen at The Columns?
A: The Columns is perfect for social, pop-up, and corporate events, such as: rehearsal dinners, intimate weddings, private parties, special birthdays, bridal parties, corporate meetings, off site team building, new hire orientation, team celebrations, and networking.
Q: What’s up with those crazy bathrooms?
A: We worked with Pam Kravetz and a bunch of wild and wonderful local artists to make some weird and wonderful things happen in our bathrooms. Wait… that sounded strange. You get what we mean.
Q: Who was responsible for the renovation?
A: Miriam and Jake are the owners of The Columns. They own properties in and around Cincinnati, and they have their own general contracting company. However, this particular project would not have been possible without some very special people. Kevin Helmes spent almost an entire year working alongside Miriam and Jake on the project, and he and Cameron Muff deserve most of the credit for the buildout. Miriam handled the interiors and a majority of the material selections. Terry Boling was the architect of record for the renovation.
